The Big Island has 13 new cases, bringing the island’s total to 1,803. The island has had 50 deaths from COVID-19 out of the state’s 282 total deaths attributed to COVID-19.  Hawaii County Civil Defense reports that 4 people are hospitalized.  On Friday, Hilo Medical Center reported 2 patients with COVID-19 in the ICU.  Yesterday at 5:10 p.m., Kona Community Hospital reported no patients with COVID-19 in the hospital.   North Hawaii Community Hospital does not provide a report.

There are now two FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines, one by Pfizer/BioNTech and one by Moderna.  The State is receiving both, and has a priority list for how vaccines will be distributed.
