As of 7:30 am on Monday, March 29, 2021, The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 dashboard reports the following information. 

 Global Cases -127,319,002    Global Deaths – 2,785,838

U.S. Cases – 30,267,561   U.S. Deaths – 549,364

The Associated Press reports a joint World Health Organization-China study on the origins of COVID-19 says that transmission from bats to humans through another animal is the most likely scenario and that a lab leak of the coronavirus is “extremely unlikely.
