Hilo Medical Center is challenging high school and college students to receive their first dose of the COVID vaccine at the hospital’s next mass vaccination POD on April 24, 2021; and hopefully receive their second doses at their May 15 clinic.  The Department of Education and Hilo Medical Center would like to see all students ages 16 and over fully vaccinated by the end of the school year.

In an effort to spread vaccine awareness among Big Island youth, members of the BIIF Student Athlete Advisory Council recorded a promotional video encouraging their classmates to get the shot.  The video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69rM_IVX5Dk.
