A 29-year-old Kailua-Kona man, positively identified as Kalamaokalani Keith Kelekolio-Crivello, died following a single-vehicle collision on Saturday. September 25, 2021, on Pu ‘u Honua Road at the 4 mile marker in Napo‘opo‘o.

Police determined that Kelekolio-Crivello was operating a white 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle heading south when he ran off of the roadway and lost control. The motorcycle then struck several large rocks, ejecting the rider. Kelekolio-Crivello was transported to the Kona Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead later that day.

Kelekolio-Crivello was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Police believe that speed and impairment are possible factors in the crash.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

The Area II Traffic Enforcement Unit has initiated a coroner’s inquest investigation and is asking that anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Officer Jason Foxworthy at (808) 326-4646 ext. 229 or email at Jason.foxworthy@hawaiicounty.gov.
