Beginning Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the Department of Public Works Traffic Division will be re-timing and coordinating traffic signals in the North Kona area. As a result, there will be three different plans created for the morning (6-9am), lunch (9am-230pm) and afternoon (230-630pm) traffic patterns. ICX Transportation Group has been contracted to observe the traffic flow from September 28-30, 2021 and will assist to fine tune the traffic pattern plans.
Motorists are encouraged to drive safely in these areas.

- Hwy 19 at Hale Mākaʻi Place (police station road)
- Hwy 19 at Makala Blvd
- Hwy 19 at Hwy 190 (Palani Road)
- Hwy 11 at Henry Street
- Hwy 11 at Malulani Drive
- Hwy 11 at Nani Kailua Drive
- Hwy 11 at Puapuaanui Street
- Hwy 11 at Lako Street
- Hwy 11 at Seaview Circle
- Hwy 11 at Laaloa Avenue
- Hwy 11 at Kamehameha III Road
- Palani Rd at the Lanihau Shopping Center
- Kuakini Hwy at Palani Road
- Kuakini Hwy at Henry Street
