Man Wanted for Questioning in Surveillance Camera Theft

Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public to help them identify a man who is being sought for questioning in connection with the theft of a surveillance camera that occurred in the Ocean View area of Ka‘ū.

On the morning of Monday, September 20, 2021, police were called to the 92-8700 block of Highway 11 in Ocean View after receiving a report of a man removing a surveillance camera from the exterior of a business establishment.  The suspect’s image was captured on video surveillance.

Police ask that anyone who may recognize this man, or who may have information about the incident, to call Officer Rodney Kekaualua, Jr., of the Ka‘ū Patrol Division, at (808) 939-2520 or the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.
