Due to damage brought on by recent severe weather, Hawaiʻi Island Hunting Unit F at Puʻu Waʻawaʻa will be closed to game bird hunting Saturday, December 11 and Sunday December 12.

The closure will allow the DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) to remove fallen trees on a road used to access the unit. DOFAW anticipates reopening the unit for game bird hunting on the Saturday, December 18, 2021.
