In observance of the Christmas Holiday, Hawaiʻi’ County transfer stations, recycling centers, and landfill will be closed on Saturday, December 25th.

This annual closure includes the East Hawai‘i Organics Facility, the West Hawai‘i Organics Facility, the Hilo Reload Station, the HI-5 redemption centers at County facilities, the Reuse Centers, and transfer stations that are normally scheduled to be open on Saturdays.

The County would like to remind residents not to litter or illegally dump any materials at the closed Transfer Stations and Recycling Centers.

In addition, the Kalapana Transfer Station will be open on Friday, December 24th instead of the regular Saturday.
