Department of Public Safety COVID-19 Update

The PSD Administrative Division Training and Staff Development (TSD) section reports one corrections officer recruit tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health is conducting contact tracing and has cleared TSD to continue the Basic Corrections Recruit Class (BCRC) and Law Enforcement Recruit Class (LERC) training and events.

In addition, COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ.

The latest testing updates received for other correctional facilities are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 2 positive staff test results and 54 negative inmate test results.

Maui Community Correctional Center – 34 negative inmate test results and 12 negative staff test results.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – 19 negative inmate test results.

Kulani Correctional Facility – 19 negative inmate test results.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – The 1 previously reported positive inmate was released. 8 negative inmate test results.

Halawa Correctional Facility – 2 negative inmate test results.
