Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public to help them locate a piece of men‘s jewelry stolen from a Hilo department store over the weekend.

On Saturday, January 22, store employees reported that a woman, described as a stocky built local, 5 feet tall, with short hair and wearing a camouflage fanny pack, grabbed a gold-colored ring studded with rows of clear and dark-colored stones and ran out of the store, heading westbound on Puainako Street.

The ring is valued at approximately $3,400.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the identity of the female suspect or location of the ring to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311 or contact Officer Joshua Rodby-Tomas of Hilo patrol via e-mail at joshua.rodby-tomas@hawaiicounty.gov.
