The Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area (formerly Mauna Kea Recreation Area) will be closed on March 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. due to a scheduled power outage.

During this time, HELCO will be doing emergency pole replacement work in the vicinity of Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area and requires the de-energizing of the substation feeding the park.

The park’s public restrooms and amenities will not be available during this time.
