County Extends Application Deadline for Summer Fun Program

The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation has extended its application deadline for temporary summer employment with the 2022 Summer Fun Program.

Positions will be available at the following sites:

  • Honoka‘a Gym
  • Pāpa‘ikou Gym
  • Pa‘auilo Gym
  • Laupāhoehoe Point Gym
  • Waikoloa Neighborhood Park (Pu‘u Nui Park)
  • Waimea Community Center
  • Waimea District Park
  • Hisaoka Gym
  • Kekuaokalani Gym
  • Yano Hall
  • Kea‘au Armory
  • Nā’ālehu Community Center

Job applicants must possess a current First Aid certification, submit a completed Summer Fun application, and be available to work June 2 through July 15, 2022. The Summer Fun program begins on June 6, following a mandatory two-day training period for all temporary employees.

Summer Fun applications are available online at: https://www.parks.hawaiicounty.gov/facilities-parks/recreation, the Recreation Division Office at 799 Pi‘ilani Street in Hilo, and various County gymnasiums located around the island. The department will continue to accept completed job applications until all positions are filled.
