27 year-old Siekisiteni Fukofuka, Jr. of Kona was charged for unauthorized entry into a vehicle at Kekaha Kai State Park and several unauthorized credit card transactions at the Queen’s Marketplace.  All incidents took place on April 4, 2022.  At the time of his arrest, Fukofuka was also wanted on an unrelated outstanding warrant and was pending several unrelated matters in family court.

As the Complaint alleges, Fukofuka was charged with 7 offenses including Unauthorized Entry Into a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree (enter or remain unlawfully in a motor vehicle with intent to commit theft), Identity Theft in the Second Degree (made a transmission of any personal information of another by any oral, written, or electronic statement with intent to commit theft in the second degree), Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Theft in the Second Degree (exert unauthorized control over the property of another, the value of which exceeded $750), two counts of Theft in the Third Degree (exert unauthorized control over the property of another, the value of which exceeded $250), and Theft in the Fourth Degree (exert unauthorized control over the property of another, the value of which did not exceed $250).

On Wednesday, April 6 Fukofuka made his initial appearance in Kona District Court. The Court denied his request for supervised release, maintained his bail at $9,250.00, and ordered him to appear for a preliminary hearing on April 7.

The investigation was handled by Officers Dallas Arce and Conrad Iranon, Kona Patrol, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Frye.

The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
