Yesterday afternoon, over 100 Keaʻau High School students held a walk-out to raise awareness for victims of sexual assault.

The hour-long walkout followed the discovery of a letter that has been circulating throughout Kea’au High School  for the last few weeks claiming a former student who graduated in 2005 was sexually assaulted by a teacher.

In response to the incident, Principal Dean Cevallos wrote parents and staff explaining that after a Department of Education investigation, there was not enough information to back the accusations, which were reported five years ago.
