Hawaiʻi County police are seeking the identity of person(s) responsible for shooting approximately 17 shots from a 9mm pistol at the Kawaihae LST Landing (aka LSD) beach area on the evening of Sunday, July 17.   
 
An Allied Security officer reported that an unknown person told security personnel that a group of people were firing a pistol while at LST beach. Allied Security staff proceeded to tell the group to leave. Once the area was clear, they security located the 9mm casings at the far end of the beach.
