Mayor Roth will walk along the Hilo Bayfront Trails with the community this morning between 10:30am-11:30am.

The monthly walk with the Mayor is intended to encourage a healthy lifestyle for residents while allowing them the opportunity to talk story with Mayor Roth about topics related to Hawaiʻi Island.

Later in the day, various food truck vendors will be staged at the Moʻoheau Bandstand Parking Lot from 4:00-7:00 pm.

In a press release Mayor Roth said, “Our goal from the beginning has been about access and transparency, and we hope to achieve that by getting out into our communities and talking story.  Walking, talking, and enjoying some ʻono food together is a great way to build a healthy, sustainable Hawaiʻi Island for generations to come.”

The Foodie Trek events are made possible by The Hawaiʻi Public Health Institute, Blue Zones Project, Healthy Eating Active Living, Hilo Bayfront Trails, and the County of Hawaiʻi.
