The National Weather Service has extended the High Surf Warning for northeast facing shores and the High Surf Advisory for west facing shores of Hawaiʻi Island through this evening.

The Wind Advisory for Hawaiʻi Island remains in effect through this morning with sustained winds of 25 to 35 MPH and gusts of up to 50 MPH forecast.

Due to the high winds and surf, roadways and beaches may be closed without notice.

The public is encouraged to exercise caution in any outdoor activities until conditions improve.
