HPD Continues Search for Missing Big Island Man

Hawai‘i Island police are renewing their request for public assistance in locating 31-year-old Gary Silva-Evangelista, who has been missing since 2019.

Silva-Evangelista, who was described as standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing 150 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes, was known to frequent Hilo and Puna as well as Kaua‘i island.

Police ask anyone who may have information on Silva-Evangelista’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or Detective Casey Cabral of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section at (808) 961-2384 or via email Casey.Cabral@hawaiicounty.gov.
