Waipiʻo Valley Access Road remains closed to the general public as the Department of Public Works continues to Kona low storm clean-up.

The County plans to open the road to residents with valid driver‘s licenses sometime on Friday, December 30; weather permitting, as stipulated in Mayor’s Waipio Valley Road Continued Emergency Rule No. 2 and Emergency Rule No. 1.

Residents of the valley and farmers needing to access their lands are allowed to access the roadway through the weather-related closure but are asked to proceed with extreme caution. Following the clean-up, the roadway will remain under the Second Amended Traffic Emergency Zone Declaration and Second Waipiʻo Valley Road Declaration of Emergency and emergency rules will still apply.
