Hawai‘i Island police are renewing their request for the public assistance in locating 27-year-old Daniel Josiah Peaster, formerly of Pahoa who has been missing since mid-November 2022.

At that time he was believed to be heading to the North Kohala district to camp in the Pololu Valley area. Police received information that Peaster may still be camping/living in the Pololu Valley, or further valleys in, and occasionally may come out for supplies. Peaster, who is described as 6 feet in height, 150 lbs. with brown hair and eyes, may also be operating a blue van.

Police ask anyone who may have information on his whereabouts of, or who may have seen Peaster, to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or Detective Paul Mangus of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section at (808) 961-2383 or via email Paul.Mangus@hawaiicounty.gov.
