Chris Jones has been an All Pro player 4 times in the last 5 seasons with the Chiefs. He even made first team all pro last season and still have not been able to secure a long term contract with the Chiefs that would make him the highest paid player in his position. According to Nate Taylor, Chiefs are just unwilling to make Chris Jones the highest paid DT in the league.

Chris Jones wants to be the second highest paid defensive tackle behind Superbowl Champion Aaron Donald. The Los Angeles superstar Aaron Donald current contract is $95 million guaranteed money and $31.67 million average annual salary. Jets recently signed Quinnen Williams to a 4 year extension making him the highest paid DT in the NFL.
