Shanlyn A.S. Park has been nominated to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaiʻi. Park was among those recommended to President Biden by Senators Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz, and a merit-based Federal Judicial Selection Commission.

Judge Park has been a state court judge on the First Circuit Court on Oʻahu since 2021. From 2017-2021, she worked at the Honolulu law firms McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon, L.L.P. and Gallagher Kane Amai & Reyes.

A graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi William S. Richardson School of Law and Chaminade University of Honolulu, Judge Park served as an assistant federal public defender in the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Hawaiʻi. Prior to her service in that office, she was in private practice at Hisaka Stone & Goto from 1996 to 1997. She served as a law clerk for Judge Francis I. Yamashita, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Hawaii from 1995 to 1996.
