As part of its continuing community outreach about the dangers of fentanyl, the Hawai‘i County Police Department (HPD) provides monthly updates on the number of County fentanyl related arrests (possession/distribution) quantity as well as the amount fentanyl recovered for the preceding month.

During the month of August, there was a total of six fentanyl related arrests, zero in Area I (east Hawai‘i) and six in Area II (west Hawai‘i).

Police recovered a total of 132.3 grams of illicit fentanyl including 1 gram in Area I and 131.3 grams in Area II in addition to recovering a total of 36 fentanyl pills, (zero recovered in Area I and 36 in Area II).
