Hawai‘i Island police are investigating a Honoli‘i Beach Park assault. On October 14, Hilo patrol officers responded to Hilo Medical Center following a report of a 20-year-old male victim who had visible injuries to his head and facial area. Due to the serious nature of his injuries, he was airlifted to Queens Medical Center for further treatment where he is in stable condition at this time. Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigation Section are continuing this investigation. A video of the assault was posted to social media.
