The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s basketball team was voted to finish No. 3 in the PacWest Conference Coaches Preseason Poll released on October 25.

Last year, the Vulcans finished fourth in the conference with a 13-7 tally and were 17-9 overall. This season, Coach Kaniela Aiona welcomes back eight of his players, including reigning PacWest Newcomer of the Year Carlos Ramsey Jr. and PacWest Defender of the Year Nadjrick Peat.

The Vulcans will compete in the PacWest-GNAC Challenge, November 10–11 at the Murchison Gym (Westmont) against the Saint Martin’s Saints and the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets.
