The Department of Environmental Management will close the Hilo Scale House, the East Hawai‘i Organics Facility, and the Hilo Reload Facility at 1:30 p.m. today to allow fumigation.

Due to the early closure, the Hilo Scale House will remain open from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will remain open during the normal lunch period.

As a reminder, all solid waste facilities, including the landfill, the organics facilities, and all transfer stations islandwide, are closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 23. All facilities will resume normal hours on Friday, November 24.
