Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of December 18

The Department of Transportation announced a number of Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of December 18, 2023. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD / KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6.2 and 6.4, in the vicinity of Kapue Stream Bridge beginning Monday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 22 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for emergency repairs to Kapue Stream Bridge.

PAPAALOA TO OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 23 and 27.6, in the vicinity of Kapehu Road and Stevens Road on Monday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for new roadway striping and reflective markers.

 

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 6.17 and 10.6, on Monday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 22 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder.
