Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for information regarding the whereabouts of  61-year-old Haunani Trask Gibson, of Pa‘auilo, who was reported missing last winter.

On November 11, 2023, a family member reported to have not heard from Gibson in more than eight months. The family member also checked Gibson’s Pa‘auilo residence but was unable to find her.

Emergency personnel conducted an extensive area search, including police with a scent discriminating canine and the Hawai‘i County Fire Department’s helicopter; however, Gibson was not located.

Police have continued to follow up on tips, interviewing many of Gibson’s associates, friends, and family members.

Gibson is described as having a light complexion, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 156 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on Gibson’s location to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
