Beginning today, the Department of Public Works Engineering Division will proceed with on-site work for the Hilo Shipman Drywells Improvements.

The scope of work, which is set to last approximately eight months, will include constructing new drainage structures, including reconstruction of roadway pavement and pavement striping and markings.

The work, which will occur from 7am-3:30pm, will affect Williama Place, Melekahiwa Place, Melekahiwa Street and Mikahala Place. During this time, motorists should be aware of delays and lane shifts. Road work signs, delineators, and traffic cones will direct the traffic flow at the work site.
