Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of June 24

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 24, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 11)  

PAHALA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 53 to 56, in the vicinity of Ninole Loop Road, Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting. 

 

CAPTAIN COOK 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 87 to 90, in the vicinity of Ohana Road, Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting. 

CAPTAIN COOK 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 to 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road, Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements on the roadway.  

 

 

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)   

HILO 

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 2 to 4, in the vicinity of Mooheau Park, on Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for grass and vegetation cutting. 

 

 

    KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD / PAHOA-BYPASS ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA  

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Bypass Road (Route 130) possible in either direction, between mile post 10 to 13, beginning Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass trimming.  

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIKOLOA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12 to 16, on Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.

 

 KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197)   

KAILUA KONA 

Single lane closure on Kealakehe (Route 197) possible in either direction between mile post 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for lay out of shared use path striping and signs. 

 

 

DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/ SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200) 

HILO 

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway/ Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 10 to 12, on Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.  

 

 

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU  

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for over-banding in designated areas as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.  

 

   PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO 

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, nightly from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street Widening Project.
