Hawai’i Island police have identified the man whose remains were recently discovered on a Hawaiian Ocean View Estate subdivision property as 56-year-old Wayne Richard Moriarty of Ocean View. Moriarty was also commonly known as Arthur Hackett.

During an autopsy performed on Friday, the forensic pathologist determined that Moriarty’s death was caused by a gunshot wound and ruled the death as a homicide.
