Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of November 4

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of November 4, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. In observance of Election Day, there will be no contraflow and no work on State Highways unless otherwise permitted.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY  (ROUTE 11) 

NAALEHU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 56 to 58, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 tdhrough Friday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 93 to 95, in the vicinity of Ohia Malu Road and Kukui O pae Place, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and the Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Nov. 4 and Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety upgrades to the roadway.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD/KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

HILO TO PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 4 to 6, in the vicinity of Kukai Place, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 22.79 to 222.82 in the vicinity of Koi Loop, on Thursday, Nov. 7 through Friday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

 KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 5.8 to 6 on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for DWS installation of a waterline.

 

DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 200) 

WAIAKEA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 12, in the vicinity of Akoni Pule Highway, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for moving of concrete barriers.

 

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

HAWI

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 16 to 19, in the vicinity of Akoni Pule Highway, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

   

PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, Nov. 4 and Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway and doing shoulder work as part of the Puainako Street improvements Project.

PARADISE DRIVE

HAWAIIAN PARADISE PARK

No outgoing traffic from Paradise Drive onto Highway 130 Thursday, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews install a speed hump on Paradise Drive. Motorists will be allowed into HPP using Paradise Drive, but will be detoured to 32nd Ave. or 31st Ave. to head Pahoa-bound.
