Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of January 27

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of January 27, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

KEAAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 6 to 8, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KEOKEA-HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.3 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety improvements.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 107 to 109, in the vicinity of Rabbit Hill and Koa Road, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder stabilization.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD/ MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) 

PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile post 6.4, in the vicinity of Mill Road, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Thursday, Jan. 30, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. for maintaining crosswalk and lane lines.

3) PAPAALOA TO LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 21 to 25, in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road and Puualaea Homestead Road, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

  HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 190) 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

WAIKOLOA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

KALAOA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 33 to 33.3, in the vicinity of Kaiminani Drive, on Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new speed table/crosswalk.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 10 to 12, Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
