County Hiring Summer Lifeguards

The Department of Parks & Recreation is currently accepting applications for summer lifeguard positions at County pools.

The pay for the temporary lifeguards is $20 per hour. The contract period is from May 22-Aug. 4, 2025. The position offers opportunities for flexible scheduling.

The application deadline is March 31. Applicants must be 18 years old by the deadline. Additional requirements include a current lifeguarding certification and the successful completion of a swimming and skills test.

For potential applicants who do not currently have a lifeguarding certification, the Pāhoa Community Aquatic Center is offering a Lifeguarding Certification Course from March 17-21.
