Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of March 10

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of March 10, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

VOLCANO ROAD/MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 32 to 35, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.3 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements.

 KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 3 to 4, in the vicinity of East Palai Street and Lama Street on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

PEPEEKEO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 10.21 to 10.22, in the vicinity of Kaakepa Street, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for crosswalk maintenance and markings in the intersection.

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 27 to 29, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

KAWAIHAE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 60 to 67, in the vicinity of Ohina Street, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

 

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Avenue (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and shoulder work.
