Hawai‘i Island police are seeking witnesses to a road rage incident involving a White Toyota 4Runner and a Silver Ford SUV that took place last Sunday near the 78-mile-marker of Highway 11 in Ocean View.

At 9:20 a.m., Ka‘ū patrol officers responded to a report of a traffic collision near the entrance of the Kona Gardens subdivision that resulted in two men involved in a physical dispute. Both parties sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of being assaulted. One party went to the Kona Community Hospital for treatment and was subsequently released and one party refused medical treatment.

Due to both parties giving conflicting statements, investigating officers are still trying to determine the chain of events that led up to the incident. Police believe the incident occurred on Highway 11 and that prior to the incident, one of the involved parties may have been driving recklessly.
