28 year-old Junson Heckerz of Ocean View was arrested and charged in relation to a series of offenses that occurred in Kona on June 4.

Yesterday, Heckerz made his initial Kona District Court appearance where over prosecutors’ objections, the District Court judge reduced Heckerz’ bail from $293,100.00 to $5,000.00 and ordered him to appear for a preliminary hearing today.

As the Complaint alleges, Heckerz is charged with twelve offenses, including three counts of Theft in the First Degree (theft of a motor vehicle), three counts of Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle in the First Degree, and a single count each of Burglary in the First Degree, Unauthorized Entry Into a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, Resisting an Order to Stop a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree, Reckless Endangering in the Second Degree, Theft in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Property Damage in the Fourth Degree. The most serious offenses, Theft in the First Degree and Burglary in the First Degree, are both class B felony offenses and carry a penalty of either a ten-year prison term or four years probation and up to eighteen months of jail.

The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
