Hilo Woman Charged with Credit Card Fraud

Hawai‘i Island police arrested and charged 23-year-old Alohi Kaupu-Grace of Hilo with various offenses stemming from fraudulent credit card use .

The victim contacted police reporting he received a text from his credit card company alerting him of a fraudulent charge made to his account in excess of $750.

After investigation, Kaupu-Grace was identified as the person responsible for the unauthorized transaction and had obtained the victim’s personal confidential information while employed at her former place of employment.

Kaupu-Grace was charged with the following offenses:

  • Second-degree theft
  • Second-degree identity theft
  • Unauthorized possession of personal confidential information
  • Fraudulent use of a credit card

Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective Amy Omaya of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section at (808) 961-2381 or via email at Amy.Omaya@hawaiicounty.gov.
