Hawaiʻi County D.U.I. Statistics: July 7-13

During the week of July 7, to July 13, 2025 Hawai‘i Island police arrested 13 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Four of the drivers were involved in a traffic crash.

So far in 2025, there have been 497 DUI arrests compared with 523 during the same period in 2024, a decrease of 4.97 percent.

The Hawai‘i County Police Department’s Traffic Services Section reviewed all updated crashes and found 558 major crashes thus far in 2025, compared with 532 major crashes during the same time in 2025, an increase of 4.89 percent.

To date, there have been 13 fatal crashes, resulting in 14 fatalities compared with 17 fatal crashes, resulting in 19 fatalities, for the same time last year. This represents a decrease of 23.53 percent for fatal crashes and 26.32 percent for fatalities.

So far in 2025, the non-traffic fatality count (not on a public roadway) is zero, compared to zero non-traffic fatalities for the same time last year.
