The Philadelphia Eagles are parting ways with offensive lineman Kenyon Green as they trim their roster ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man deadline, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Philadelphia had acquired Green back in March in a trade with the Houston Texans, which also included a fifth-round pick in exchange for safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a sixth-rounder. At the time, the 23-year-old lineman was viewed as a candidate to provide depth at guard, but he ultimately fell short of securing a role.

The Eagles’ starting offensive line is firmly established with Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, and Lane Johnson. On Sunday, Philadelphia pulled off three trades, acquiring tackle Fred Johnson from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a seventh-round pick, and sending tackle Darian Kinnard to the Green Bay Packers for a future sixth-round selection.

Green entered the league as the 15th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, coming out of Texas A&M. His rookie campaign with Houston was rocky, and he was sidelined for the entire 2023 season after a preseason shoulder injury. This past year, he managed to appear in 12 games at left guard, starting nine of them.
