Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington has agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract extension. Washington had one season left on his contract that would have paid him $14.1 million. Washington’s agent, Kevin Bradbury told ESPN’s Shams Charania that the deal will run through the 2029-30 NBA season.

The 27-year-old Washington was the 12th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. He spent his first five seasons with the Charlotte Hornets before being traded to the Mavs in Feb. 2024. He was a key member of the starting lineup as the team advanced to the NBA Finals and averaged 13.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in that playoff run.

In his first full season with the Mavericks, Washington averaged 14.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks in 57 games, while shooting 45.3% from the field and was a 38.1% shooter from 3-point range.
