Hawaiʻi County D.U.I. Statistics: November 24-30

During the week of November 24 to Nov. 30, 2025 Hawai‘i Island police arrested 11 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Five of the drivers were involved in a traffic crash. None of the drivers was under the age of 21.

So far in 2025, there have been 840 DUI arrests compared with 889 during the same period last year, a decrease of 5.51 percent.

The Hawai‘i County  Police Department’s Traffic Services Section reviewed all updated crashes and found 917 major crashes so far this year, compared with 899 major crashes during the same time last year, an increase of 2.0 percent.

To date, there have been 18 fatal crashes, resulting in 20 compared with 25 fatal crashes, resulting in 28 fatalities for the same time last. This represents a decrease of 28 percent for fatal crashes and 28.57 percent for fatalities.

So far in 2025, the non-traffic fatality count so far this year is 0 compared to 0 non-traffic fatalities (not on a public roadway) for the same time last year.
