As of 5:45 am, the following National Weather Service Alerts remain in effect for Hawaiʻi Island through 6:00 pm today:

The Flood Watch for all districts and the High Wind Warning for the Kohala and Kau Districts and the Island interior.

The Flood Advisory for the Kohala and Hamakua Districts remains in effect through this morning, and the High Surf Warning for North and East facing shores of Hawaii Island remains in effect through Tuesday morning.

The public is encouraged to limit driving to essential travel only.

All non-essential County services and operations, including all parks and solid waste facilities, will be closed today. All Department of Edcucation schools and the University of Hawaiʻi will also be closed today.
