The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Environmental Management’s vendor, Hawaiian Earth Recycling, is now changing mulch loading fees for commercial customers at the Kealakehe Recycling and Transfer Station and the East Hawaiʻi Organics Facility.

At the Kealakehe Recycling and Transfer Station, commercial customers will be charged $5 per cubic yard.  At the East Hawaiʻi Organics Facility, commercial customers will be charged $20 per cubic yard. There is no limit, while supplies last.

Manual self-loading for commercial customers is allowed and is not subject to the loading fee, which is only payable with Mastercard or Visa credit and debit cards. No cash or checks are accepted.

There is no change for residential users, who receive free loading. Residential users are limited to 3 cubic yards per day.

Contact the Solid Waste Division for more information at 808-961-8270.
