Pass rusher Maxx Crosby reaffirms commitment to Las Vegas Raiders after Ravens trade fallout

Las Vegas Raiders defense end Maxx Crosby #98 warms up prior to an NFL football game against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium^ Oct. 20^ 2024^ in Inglewood^ Calif.

Maxx Crosby has made it clear he plans to remain with the Las Vegas Raiders, after a planned deal that would have sent him to the Baltimore Ravens collapsed at the last minute. Baltimore quickly shifted plans following the failed deal, agreeing to a four-year, $112 million contract with former Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson.

The star pass rusher addressed the situation publicly for the first time Wednesday night, posting a message on social media that reaffirmed his commitment to Las Vegas: “Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That Sh*t. 🦅🏴‍☠️”

The post came just days after Crosby had shared an emotional farewell video thanking the Raiders and expressing excitement about joining Baltimore following reports that the teams had agreed to a trade package that included two first-round picks, one of them the No. 14 selection in the 2026 draft (that video has since been removed.)

The deal ultimately unraveled when Baltimore raised medical concerns during Crosby’s physical. The 28-year-old defender underwent surgery in January to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He had been playing through the injury earlier in the season before the Raiders shut him down for the final two games, a move that reportedly frustrated him. According to his agent, Crosby’s recovery is progressing well and he is expected to be ready for offseason activities. He was already back in Las Vegas working out at the team facility shortly after the trade fell through.

Despite receiving inquiries from multiple teams about Crosby’s availability, Las Vegas appears prepared to move forward. Crosby, a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has built an impressive résumé that includes five Pro Bowl selections, two second-team All-Pro honors, and 69.5 sacks in 110 career games. He is also under contract long-term after signing a three-year, $106.5 million extension in 2025 that runs through the 2029 season.
