32-year-old Steven Erik Michael Lindquist of Kailua-Kona, was arrested and charged following a recent incident Kona.
According to police, Lindquist was charged for brandishing, what was later determined to be a .22 caliber pellet gun, and threatening another person at the Keauhou Shopping Center parking lot. Lindquist was located and arrested by Kona Patrol officers a short time later. During his arrest, Lindquist attempted to take the officer’s firearm and made subsequent threats upon the officer’s life.
On Friday, Lindquist made his initial appearance in Kona District Court on Friday where the Court maintained his bail at $93,000.
As the Complaint alleges, Lindquist is charged with two counts of Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree (Count 1: with a dangerous instrument, a simulated firearm; and Count 2: terrorizing a public servant), Attempted Theft in the First Degree (theft of a firearm), and Resisting Arrest. Attempted Theft in the First Degree is a class B felony offense and carries a penalty of either a ten-year prison term or four years probation and up to eighteen months in jail. Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree is a class C felony offense and carries a penalty of either a five-year prison term or four years probation and up to one year in jail.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kate Perazich.
