Hawaii Tourism Authority announced that incoming arrivals to the state have significantly decreased since the Governor’s order that all people arriving–resident or visitor–must self quarantine for 14 days.  On Thursday, Mar. 26, the total number of arrivals at Kona Airport, the only airport on the Big Island that had mainland flights, had only 109 people come in by plane.

The total number of arrivals to the state was 1,589.   Of that number, 268 people were visitors, and most of them were either crew members or returning residents. In comparison, in March, 2019, more than 30,000 passengers arrived in Hawaii daily, including residents and visitors.

Hawaii Department of Transportation spokesman Tim Sakahara said Thursday that several flights were cancelled, and some flights arrived with 0, 1, or fewer than 10 passengers.

This table details the number of people who arrived by air on March 26th
