The State Department of Health has confirmed 100  new COVID-19 cases, bringing the state’s total to 15,572 with approximately 3,347 active cases.   On Wednesday, the state added 156 cases.   October 9 was the last time there were more than 100 new cases–155 on that day.

The state is reporting 219 deaths.  A total of 1,138 people have required hospitalization statewide; on Hawaii Island, 65 people have required hospitalization.

Today’s new COVID-19 cases in Hawaii include 66 on Oahu, one each on  Maui,  Lanai,  and Kaua;’i, and 7 Hawaii residents diagnosed outside of the state.  Moloka’i added no new cases.

The Big Island has 24 new cases of COVID-19.    The island’s total is 1,356, with approximately 343 active cases (total number minus those released from isolation minus those who have passed away).
