Hawaii County authorities have ordered the mandatory evacuation of the Puʻukapu Homestead and Waikiʻi Ranch communities due the brushfire.

An evacuation center has opened at Waimea District Park off of Ala Ohia Road in Waimea.  The center is pet friendly but you must supply your own provisions.

Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) is CLOSED to all traffic from the Waimea Airport to Waikoloa Road due to the brush fire.  It is not known how long this closure will last.  Please use Queen Kaahumanu Highway instead.  Please drive safely.
