Pohakuloa Training Center

This February, military units are scheduled to conduct essential training activities at Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA).

Training can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week on PTA in the restricted airspace. Protecting the health of the force and the community continue to be the Army’s top priority as Hawaiʻi service members maintain mission readiness.  All mission essential training requires adherence to Department of Defense and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines regarding safety and physical distancing, to include the wearing of masks and frequent sanitization.

Essential training is subject to change based on safety, weather and other environmental factors. Weather, such as overcast conditions can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.

The planned February training schedule is as follows:

Feb. 2-27- Army and Marine Helicopter Gunnery

Feb. 4-6- Hawaiʻi Army National Guard Small Arms Training

Feb. 21- No Training; Federal holiday

Feb. 22-March 18- Army and Marine Small Arms Training

Feb. 22-March 31- Unmanned Aerial Systems Training The following military convoys are planned during February:

Feb. 11-16- 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Kawaihae Harbor to PTA

There are no hunting dates currently planned for February. If the situation changes, an additional advisory will be published.
